Why give to the RAF?
UNLV Athletics is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association in Division I. With membership, and an increase of demands placed upon our student-athletes, there must been a continuous rise of expenses. To provide the resources our student-athletes need to excel in the classroom, and stay competitive on a national level, we are forced to supplement our 17 sports with outside funding.
Can anyone join the Rebel Athletic Fund?
YES! Anyone can join. There are membership levels ranging from $100 to $20,000 and above to accommodate everyone's personal and corporate giving ability.
Does contributing to the RAF count towards my seats for Men's Basketball and Football?
Yes. To be eligible to sit in various areas in the Thomas and Mack Center as well as Sam Boyd Stadium, a contribution is necessary along with your purchase of season tickets.
Is there a tax benefit if I contribute to the RAF tax deductible?
Yes. A donation to the RAF is considered a charitable deduction. You are allowed to deduct 80% of the contributed amount. Federal law requires you to reduce the amount based on the donor benefits. Please consult your tax advisor about any questions you have on charitable giving.
What makes a person a current donor?
If you make a pledge within the current calendar year (January 1st-December 31st) you will be 'active' in the RAF. A gift designated "unrestricted' entitles you to receive full benefits that correspond with your total level of giving.
