Fan Appreciation Night Features Ticket Specials

Nov. 10, 2008

LAS VEGAS - Members of any youth sports team (16 years old and under) who wear their jersey and all fans age 16 and younger who donate two canned food items will get in free of charge to Thursday's UNLV vs. Wyoming football game. Also, anyone 17 and older who brings two canned food items gets in for only $5 as part of Fan Appreciation Night, the athletics department announced Monday.

The Rebels' final home game of 2008 sees both teams still fighting to become bowl eligible and kickoff at Sam Boyd Stadium is set for 6 p.m. PT. The first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a free souvenir 2008 Rebel Football Senior Night poster honoring UNLV's 16 seniors.

All fans are encouraged to bring a canned food donation and collection bins will be stationed at all entrances. The food drive is in conjunction with Three Square, which is an organization that was established to end hunger in the valley by providing wholesome, nutritious food to non-profit organizations that serve a wide range of Southern Nevadans in need. Tickets for those donating on Thursday will be distributed at the East or South box office entrances.

The athletics department also announced that all current UNLV faculty and staff with a valid Rebel Card are entitled to two complimentary tickets and can purchase additional tickets for $5 apiece. Pick up your tickets in advance at the Thomas & Mack Center Box Office (Monday through Wednesday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or on game day from 10 a.m. to noon) or at Sam Boyd Stadium's South Box Office before the game.

Already, 1,200 tickets to Thursday's game have been distributed for use by the Clark County School District as part of the UNLV Athletics Department's "Tickets for Teachers" program.
