Pope Joins UNLV Staff
UNLV head coach Mike Sanford announced Thursday that he has hired Kenith Pope to fill out his 2008 staff as running backs coach. Pope joins the Rebels after five years as the assistant head coach at Texas A&M, where he also oversaw the Aggie running backs the last two seasons and the team's wide receivers from 2004-05. [ + ] After a quarter century passed between selecting UNLV players in the NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns made it two in two years as the AFC team chose linebacker Beau Bell with the fifth selection of the fourth round (104 overall) on Sunday. [ + ] Under the guidance of UNLV offensive line coach Keith Uperesa, Team Flair took home the title at the 3rd annual Night of Champions, held under sunny skies at Rebel Park on Wednesday. [ + ] The public is invited to attend the third annual UNLV Football Night of Champions, a free event on campus Wednesday night. [ + ] With all of the scoring coming in the first half, the Rebels (No. 1 offense and defense) defeated UNLV (No. 2 offense and defense) 21-3 in the annual spring game before a crowd of nearly 500 fans on a beautiful Friday night at Sam Boyd Stadium. [ + ] The UNLV football team will close spring practice by holding its traditional Spring Game on Friday at Sam Boyd Stadium. The annual event is scheduled to run from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and is FREE and open to the public. [ + ] |
