Eric Toomey returns for his fourth season as an assistant coach for the Rebel program after serving as an assistant at Iowa State.
Toomey, 29, played for current UNLV head coach Missy Ringler while she was a coach at Washington State. The Snohomish, Wash., native, transferred from Nevada, Reno to Washington State and earned three letters in golf for the Cougars and served as the team captain before earning his bachelor's degree in humanities in 2000.
Toomey landed his first coaching position as the men's and women's assistant at Iowa State and spent two seasons in Ames before heading to Tucson, where he worked as an assistant golf professional at El Conquistador Country Club. He left Tucson to join the Rebels, where he is involved in all of the day-to-day activities of the program. The Rebels have won three consecutive MWC Championships since Toomey has joined the staff.
"Eric understands the ins and outs of college golf and knows what it takes to be successful," Ringler said. "He has a very good eye for the golf swing and has been a valuable asset in our preparation for competition,"
Toomey married the former Erin Naeve on July 17, 2004. Erin works in leisure sales for the Harrah's Corporation.
