         <description><![CDATA[The 2007 volleyball season came to an end on Nov. 30 for the UNLV Rebels in Los Angeles, Calif. The Rebels were defeated in a hard-fought five-game match by the then-#25 Long Beach State 49ers in the NCAA Tournament First Round at USC's Galen Center. The Rebels rallied from 1-0 and 2-1 game deficits, but fell in the decisive fifth frame by a 15-10 score.]]></description>

This is the first AVCA honor for Keeley after she took home a share of the Mountain West Conference's Coach of the Year honor. Miramontes, on the other hand, was named to the AVCA All-West Region Honorable Mention in 2005.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[The UNLV Rebels (24-6) rode two straight five-game victories to a Mountain West Conference Championship, but were unable to keep the streak alive with its 3-2 loss to the 25th-ranked Long Beach State 49ers (26-6) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday night. The teams traded victories throughout the match, as LBSU took #1 and #3, while UNLV kept evening things up with its game two and four wins. Ultimately, the 49ers broke a 10-10 tie in the decisive, fifth game to earn the win at USC's Galen Center. Long Beach State advances to the second round and will face the winner of the #5 USC vs. Pepperdine match on Saturday night.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[UNLV went 3-0 last week at the 2007 Mountain West Conference Volleyball Championship, en route to its first MWC title. With the 3-2 win over Utah in the championship match, the Rebels earned the MWC's automatic bid into the their first-ever NCAA Tournament. UNLV will face the 25th-ranked Long Beach State 49ers in the First Round on Friday, Nov. 30 (5:00 pm) in Los Angeles, Calif. USC's Galen Center will play host to the First and Second Rounds. USC is one of 16 teams seeded in the tournament, as the Trojans received the fifth national seed. USC will play the Pepperdine Waves following the conclusion of the UNLV-LBSU contest (approximately, 7:00 pm). The first round winners advance to second round action on Saturday, Dec. 1 (7:00 pm). For the regional, USC is the top seed, while UNLV is second, LBSU third and Pepperdine fourth.]]></description>

In a week of firsts, Miramontes led the Rebel volleyball team to their first-ever Mountain West Conference (MWC) Championship last week, and an automatic bid into their first NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship. In addition to being the AVCA's weekly selection, she was tabbed the MWC's Player of the Week after taking home MVP honors in the conference tournament.]]></description>
