The UNLV volleyball program has set the dates for its Spring Clinics, as well as its five Summer Camps. The clinics begin on Feb. 18 and are scheduled for six Monday nights in a seven-week span, while a Saturday Clinic has been set for Feb. 23. The 2007 volleyball season came to an end on Nov. 30 for the UNLV Rebels in Los Angeles, Calif. The Rebels were defeated in a hard-fought five-game match by the then-#25 Long Beach State 49ers in the NCAA Tournament First Round at USC's Galen Center. The Rebels rallied from 1-0 and 2-1 game deficits, but fell in the decisive fifth frame by a 15-10 score. [ + ]

Miramontes Earns Honorable Mention All-America
UNLV's Lauren Miramontes just added one more accolade to her successful season by being named a 2007 American Volleyball Coaches Association's (AVCA) Division I Honorable Mention All-America. Miramontes was eligible for AVCA All-America honors after being tabbed to the AVCA West Region's First Team on Dec. 5. [ + ]
 
Miramontes, Keeley Earn West Region Honors
UNLV head coach Allison Keeley was recognized by the 2007 American Volleyball Coaches Association as the West Region's Division I Coach of the Year, while Lauren Miramontes was tabbed to the All-West Region Team. This is the first AVCA honor for Keeley after she took home a share of the Mountain West Conference's Coach of the Year honor. Miramontes, on the other hand, was named to the AVCA All-West Region Honorable Mention in 2005. [ + ]
 
Rebels Sign Four For 2008
The UNLV Rebels added four players to its 2008 lineup with Amanda Alles, Monika Karney, Leah Maurer and Cursty Jackson. All four student-athletes will enroll at UNLV in the fall of 2008 and be eligible to play next fall announced head coach Allison Keeley. [ + ]
 
Not A Good Day At The Beach
The UNLV Rebels (24-6) rode two straight five-game victories to a Mountain West Conference Championship, but were unable to keep the streak alive with its 3-2 loss to the 25th-ranked Long Beach State 49ers (26-6) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday night. The teams traded victories throughout the match, as LBSU took #1 and #3, while UNLV kept evening things up with its game two and four wins. Ultimately, the 49ers broke a 10-10 tie in the decisive, fifth game to earn the win at USC's Galen Center. Long Beach State advances to the second round and will face the winner of the #5 USC vs. Pepperdine match on Saturday night. [ + ]
 
Rebels Ready For First NCAA Appearance
UNLV went 3-0 last week at the 2007 Mountain West Conference Volleyball Championship, en route to its first MWC title. With the 3-2 win over Utah in the championship match, the Rebels earned the MWC's automatic bid into the their first-ever NCAA Tournament. UNLV will face the 25th-ranked Long Beach State 49ers in the First Round on Friday, Nov. 30 (5:00 pm) in Los Angeles, Calif. USC's Galen Center will play host to the First and Second Rounds. USC is one of 16 teams seeded in the tournament, as the Trojans received the fifth national seed. USC will play the Pepperdine Waves following the conclusion of the UNLV-LBSU contest (approximately, 7:00 pm). The first round winners advance to second round action on Saturday, Dec. 1 (7:00 pm). For the regional, USC is the top seed, while UNLV is second, LBSU third and Pepperdine fourth. [ + ]
 
Miramontes Recognized Nationally, Twice Over
The awards keep piling up for Lauren Miramotnes, as she has been named this week's Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week. In a week of firsts, Miramontes led the Rebel volleyball team to their first-ever Mountain West Conference (MWC) Championship last week, and an automatic bid into their first NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship. In addition to being the AVCA's weekly selection, she was tabbed the MWC's Player of the Week after taking home MVP honors in the conference tournament. [ + ]
